Mission, Vision and Values
Mission: Through active stewardship, advocacy and partnerships, the Clinch Valley Trail Alliance seeks to improve the health, environment and economy of our region by the development and preservation of sustainable, multi-use trails within the City of Oak Ridge and the greater Roane and Anderson County regions of East Tennessee.
Vision and Values: The Clinch Valley Trail Alliance (CVTA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to the promotion of healthy outdoor fun for all ages and skill levels through the creation, enhancement, preservation and stewardship of multi-use trails in the Clinch Valley region. We strive for member diversity from bikers, to hikers, to trail runners, conservationists, and the like. CVTA will work to foster relationships with community leaders, promote volunteerism and outdoor recreation that is consistent with environmental protection, thereby strengthening the individual, family, and community quality of life for generations to come. CVTA will encourage involvement of our area youth through organized youth rides, trail building workshops and other educational opportunities.
Hill of Truth fundraising efforts have supported the completion of Phase One and Two of the Haw Ridge Project
Phase One
Clinch Valley Trail Alliance fully funded $12,400 for the completion of Phase One in 2021 and raised over $20,000 of the ~$31,000 needed for the completion of Phase Two during the 2022 Hill of Truth Festival.
Phase Two
Resurfacing what the locals refer to as the "Perimeter Loop", now known as the “Atomic Ring”, to address drainage issues and sustainability of some of the most widely used trails. Middle Road which runs through the middle of the park is heavily traveled by all trail users and in need of significant drainage work and sustainability improvements. Phase Two was completed in 2023/2024.
All proceeds from the 2025 Hill of Truth Festival will fund our current initiatives at Haw Ridge Park.
