12 Hours of the Hill of Truth Mountain Bike Race

The 12 Hours of the Hill of Truth is a mountain bike race to see how many laps of the course you or your team can complete in 12 hours. There are a lot of ways to approach this: some riders compete to win on every lap, while some like to ride until lunch time and call it a day; some race solo, some compete as a four person team, and some riders just enjoy a few party pace laps with their friends. And some folks truly love a challenge (pain cave!) and race solo on a single speed, while others will casually flip the switch on their e-bike and whiz by you on the uphill. It's completely up to you and can be as challenging as you want it to be - Haw Ridge can really bring the goods.

Race Categories

​Team will be 4 riders, but you can enter with 3 riders. We have added a Duo category for those riders who prefer a greater team challenge. E-bike is solo only. Single speed may be solo or ride on a Team or Duo.

CATEGORIES

  • Open Team of 4: Any combination of riders and skill levels. Co-ed.

  • Sport Team of 4: At least half of the team members must be Sport Class racers, no expert/elite/pro racers. Co-ed.

  • Recreational Team of 4: those wishing to participate at a beginner level, no sport, expert/elite/pro racers. Co-ed.

  • Women Team of 4: All female team members. 

  • Masters (45+) Team of 4: All racers 45 years of age or older. Co-ed.

  • U18 Team of 4: All racers must be under 18. Co-ed.

  • Duo: Team of two riders, any skill level. Co-ed.

  • Solo Men: any skill level, any age.

  • Solo Women: any skill level, any age.

  • Single Speed Solo Men: any skill level, any age. Bike must be single geared.

  • Single Speed Solo Women: any skill level, any age. Bike must be single geared.

  • Solo Women E-bike: any skill level, any age. Bike must be eMTB.

  • Solo Men E-bike: any skill level, any age. Bike must be eMTB.

Prize List

​Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each category. In the event there are not three finishers in a category or winner is not present, the remaining merchandise prizes/cash will be distributed by the race director or used for special door prizes.

Greatest of All Terrain!

The solo rider (excluding e-bike categories) with the most laps will be recognized as the overall winner of the Hill of Truth race. In the event there are two or more riders with the same number of laps ridden, the rider who completed the laps in the shortest time wins.

  • Registration

    • $75 per rider until September 6, 2023

    • $85 per rider from September 7, 2023 to September 15, 2023

    • $95 per rider from September 16, 2023 to September 29, 2023

    • $115 per rider from September 30, 2023 to October 5, 2023. 

  • Riders registered by September 6, 2023 will be guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt in their requested size. Register early!

  • Additional race t-shirts may be available for purchase at the event.

  • This race is limited to 250 racers. First come, first served.

  • Free on-site camping is available from Friday evening through Sunday morning.

  • Packet pick up will open at 7:00 a.m. October 7, 2023. 

  • All racers must register by 11:59 p.m. October 5, 2023. There will be absolutely no day of registration.
