12 Hours of the Hill of Truth Mountain Bike Race

9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

The 12 Hours of the Hill of Truth is a mountain bike race to see how many laps of the course you or your team can complete in 12 hours. There are a lot of ways to approach this: some riders compete to win on every lap, while some like to ride until lunch time and call it a day; some race solo, some compete as a four person team, and some riders just enjoy a few party pace laps with their friends. And some folks truly love a challenge (pain cave!) and race solo on a single speed, while others will casually flip the switch on their e-bike and whiz by you on the uphill. It's completely up to you and can be as challenging as you want it to be - Haw Ridge can really bring the goods.

Race Categories

Teams consist of 4 riders, but you may register with as few as 3 riders. The first team member to register should create a unique team name. Each subsequent team member should select that team name from the drop-down list during registration.

CATEGORIES

  • Open Team of 4: A team of up to 4 racers, with any combination of genders and skill levels.

  • Sport Team of 4: A team of up to 4 racers, with any combination of genders. Expert, Elite, and Pro racers are not eligible.

  • Recreational Team of 4: A team of up to 4 racers, with any combination of genders.
    Beginner-level racers only. Sport, Expert, Elite, and Pro racers are not eligible.

  • Women Team of 4: A team of up to 4 racers consisting entirely of females.

  • Masters (45+) Team of 4: A team of up to 4 racers, with any combination of genders. All
    racers must be 45 years of age or older.

  • U18 Team of 4: A team of up to 4 racers, with any combination of genders. All
    racers must be under 18.

  • Duo: A team of 2 racers, with any combination of genders. Any skill level.

  • Solo Men: any skill level, any age.

  • Solo Women: any skill level, any age.

  • Single Speed Solo: any skill level, any age. Bike must be single geared.

  • Solo E-bike: any skill level, any age. Bike must be class 1 eMTB.

Prize List

​Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each category. In the event there are not three finishers in a category or winner is not present, the remaining merchandise prizes/cash will be distributed by the race director or used for special door prizes.

Greatest of All Terrain!

The solo rider (excluding e-bike categories) with the most laps will be recognized as the overall winner of the Hill of Truth race. In the event there are two or more riders with the same number of laps ridden, the rider who completed the laps in the shortest time wins.

Cost and other info

  • Registration

    • $75 per rider until October 2, 2026

    • $95 per rider after October 2, 2026

 

  • Riders registered by October 2 will be guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt in their requested size. Register early!

  • Additional race t-shirts may be available for purchase at the event.

  • This race is limited to 250 racers. First come, first served.

  • Free on-site primitive camping is available from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning.

  • Packet pick up will open at 8:00 a.m. October 24, 2026.
