The Hill of Truth Festival bike raffle is live!

Clinch Valley Trail Alliance is excited to be partnering with Harpers Bike Shop to present one winner with a unique opportunity to choose the bike of their dreams. Winner will be drawn on October 1, 2022 and you don't need to be present to winner, but really where else will you be besides the Hill of Truth Festival and the 12 Hours of the Hill of Truth mountain bike race. For over 20 years the Hill of Truth Festival (HOT) has been known around the region as a 12 hour party in the woods on mountain bikes. Clinch Valley Trail Alliance (CVTA) has transitioned the Hill of Truth Festival into our annual fundraiser, and this year we are focused on bringing the party back. Fun is right there in fundraising, after all.

So, what does bringing the party back mean to everyone's favorite 12 hour MTB race at Haw Ridge Park? It means some of your favorite parts of the HOT will be returning, with some fresh and sure to be new faves added in.

Start preparing yourself for Huffy Toss (which will likely now be a Trek toss because we found some lying around), get ready to take a break or cheer on your friends/teammates at the Couch in the Woods located at the new Silo Party Zone, let the music move you all day, and get down by the big bonfire (weather conditions permitting) with a DJ after dark. There will be some special prizes awarded for the best costume or outfit (because some of y'all come dressed to slay everyday), and best campsite decoration because everyone loves a festive camp/pit/hang out spot. The kids race is always a crowd favorite, and this year we'll be getting even more creative with their course. Plus, they'll probably want to hang out in the Super Soaker Splash Zone where folks can keep their favorite racers cool.

We've also made some additions and changes to the categories for 2022. The single speed solo category is back for all the racers who love a challenge (that most folks can't comprehend). Teams are now four racers only. Don't have a team of four? We're introducing duo. Only have three racers? Maybe try single speed. Just kidding. Go duo and solo or find a fourth. Vet is now Masters and 45+. All team and duo categories are co-ed except the women's team obviously. E-bike category is back this year, and we're looking forward to a more competitive field. Camping will be open (free!) Friday and Saturday nights.

On Sunday, we'll have the HOT Trot trail running race, it's open to runners, walkers with and without dogs, and anyone who'd like to come out and help remove trail markers. Come out and support the runners, with CVTA offering coffee and breakfast for campers and supporters alike. We're looking forward to a fun-filled weekend with friends who love Haw Ridge and want to help support CVTA's efforts to complete Phase Two and Phase Three of the Haw Ridge Project over the next two years.
